A.J. Green returns to Cincinnati Bengals practice

The Cincinnati Bengals have their ace in the hole back on the field, but they're being careful.

Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official website reported that wide receiver A.J. Greenreturned to practice Wednesday for the first time since bruising his knee July 25.

Viewers of HBO's "Hard Knocks" got a behind-the-scenes look at Green's rehab during Tuesday's episode, but it was clear from the outset that Green's injury never threatened to sideline him beyond the preseason. The team was ultra-cautious with his return and has yet to confirm if he'll play Saturday against the Tennessee Titans.

Green only was allowed to participate in non-contact drills Wednesday, according to The Associated Press.

"I am back to 100 percent," Green said, via The AP. "They just don't want to throw me back just like this. As the days go on, I am going to work my way back into them."

Green is a strong bet to have another remarkable season. With rookies Giovani Bernard and Tyler Eifert making the Bengals' offense more dynamic, opponents will be forced to account for more than just Green soaring deep. Still, nobody on the roster can do more to shred a defense.
