San Francisco 49ers reportedly could carry two kickers

The San Francisco 49ers could have two kickers active when they play the Green Bay Packers on Friday. A league source told CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora both David Akers and Billy Cundiff could be active, since Cundiff wasn't released Friday.

Akers had the worst season of his 14-year NFL career and made just 69 percent of his 42 attempts. He had lower percentages in 1998 and 1999, but had a combined eight attempts.

Coach Jim Harbaugh could use Cundiff if Akers struggles. That could lead to an interesting scenario in the case of a last-minute, game-winning situation.
