Robert Griffin III believed Browns would draft him

It was a scene out of an alternate reality: Robert Griffin III, darting around the practice field at the Cleveland Browns facility in June.

Brooks: Top multi-purpose weapons

It was nothing more than a "Play 60" event, packed into the itinerary of this week's NFL Rookie Symposium, but the rookie quarterback once felt this would be home.

"Once I declared for the draft, Cleveland was a place I thought I would be just because they had the most firepower when it came to draft picks and tradability," RG3 told The Plain Dealer on Tuesday.

The Washington Redskins put an end to that by outbidding the Browns with a massive offer for the St. Louis Rams' No. 2 overall pick. Meanwhile, the Browns grabbed Brandon Weeden, and the rest is history.

It will be interesting to see how this winds up.
