Reports: Andre Brown out 4 to 6 weeks for N.Y. Giants

The New York Giants need Making the Leap candidate David Wilson to carry the load after veteran running back Andre Brownfractured his leg during Thursday night's preseason finale.

Brown is expected to miss four to six weeks, according to multiple reports.

At that timetable, the earliest he would return is Week 3. More realistically, it will be mid-October before he's back in football shape and ready for game action. Should the Giants opt to place Brown on the short-term injured reserve list, he wouldn't be eligible to return until after Week 8.

With his tandem partner sidelined, Wilson is undaunted by the prospect of adding third-down and short-yardage duties to his workload.

"I run in between the tackles," Wilson said, via the New York Post. "Don't get confused by my size, I'm a physical guy, I'm from the country. I grew up chopping wood and building houses with my dad so all that, I'm well put together."

Who can argue with that logic?

Wilson is one of most dynamic playmakers in the league at running back. He was our pick as fantasy football'stopbreakout player before Brown's injury. Now that Wilson is entrenched as the starter with three-down potential, this is your annual reminder that it's never to early to reach for "your guys" in a fantasy draft.
