Report: Pat Shurmur to interview with New York Jets

Former Browns coach Pat Shurmur will interview with the New York Jets for their open offensive coordinator position Friday, sources told New York Daily News reporter Manish Mehta.

The Browns went 9-23 in two years under Shurmur. They ranked No. 30 and No. 24 in scoring offense in those two seasons without an abundance of talent on that side of the ball.

Shurmur was the Rams offensive coordinator (2009-10) before he went to Cleveland and previously was an Eagles assistant for 10 years.

Saints quarterbacks coach Joe Lombardi interviewed for the position Wednesday, NOLA.com's Larry Holder reported.
