On Friday's version of the "Around The League Podcast," we suggested that the odds of a DeSean Jackson trade had escalated from 50 percent early in the week to 80 percent once news leaked that the Philadelphia Eagles were reaching out to other teams.
Citing two sources close to Jackson, Philadelphia Magazine's Tim McManus reported Friday that the wide receiver now believes he will not return to Philadelphia for the 2014 season.
As it turns out, that estimate might be on the conservative side.
"He's as good as gone," one source close to the receiver on Friday told Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, who was told by another source that Jackson's chances of returning to the Eagles stood at less than five percent.
The list of organizations known to have some level of interest includes the New York Jets, Carolina Panthers, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots.
Of those teams, the Jets and Raiders are the two that can fit Jackson's salary under their cap right now. And on Friday, Jackson posted a picture to Instagram of himself with Cam Newton.
In the evolving trade narrative, the question has shifted from whether Jackson will be dealt to when it will go down.
