Reggie Wayne will be ready for Colts training camp

On a recent episode of the "Around The League Podcast," we questioned whether Reggie Wayne was entering the final season of his championship window as a 35-year-old receiver coming off ACL surgery.

He said Thursday that he's "geeked" to prove that he has plenty of football left in his legs.

"I'm champing at the bit to get out there," Wayne said, via Mike Wells of "Like I told our receiving coach (Charlie Williams), I'm the Chevy that's in the garage. As soon as you open the garage, I'm out, I'm gone. I'm just waiting until they tell me I can suit up and be a normal football player."

Eight months removed from tearing his ACL, Wayne claims not only to be 100 percent recovered but also the healthiest he's been since 2002 (trope alert).

"He told me he will (be ready), that's all I needed," coach Chuck Pagano said. "I've known him long enough where that's all I needed to hear. He looks phenomenal. I'd be shocked if he wasn't ready (for camp). The only reason he might not get reps early will be because of me, if we decide to hold him back."

If Andrew Luck is to be believed, his "freak" receiver will be ready to assume go-to duties again in 2014.

In the latest edition of the "Around The League Podcast," the guys make the case that multiple teams have closed the gap on the Seahawks and 49ers in the NFC.
