Marshawn Lynch isn't the only player in the NFC West pondering life after football.
After San Francisco 49ers cornerback Eric Wright failed to show for Tuesday's mandatory minicamp practice, coach Jim Harbaugh told the media that the 28-year-old defender is contemplating retirement.
Harbaugh said he believes Wright will walk away from the game.
The 49ers re-signed Wright to a $900,000 deal in March after he played in just seven games last season. Losing the seven-year veteran would leave the 49ers thin at a position led by Chris Culliver and Tramaine Brock. San Francisco also signed former Vikings cover man Chris Cook, but cornerback is far from a strength for this otherwise rugged defense.
Having also drafted Kenneth Acker last month, it's possible the 49ers had some indication that Wright was thinking about calling it quits.
A second-round pick by the Browns in 2007, Wright started 55 games in Cleveland before one-year stints with the Detroit Lions and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
