  • OLB Von Miller is "in a great spot" in his return from last year's season-ending torn ACL, general manager Brandon Beane told NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero. Beane added that Miller, who's on the physically unable to perform list, returning for Week 1 is "definitely a possibility," but the Bills are "not quite there" in deciding whether the pass rusher will be ready. "We're gonna take it slowly with him," Beane told Pelissero, "and make sure he's truly ready to get back."

  • CB Trevon Diggs (bruised toe) will be doing individual drills today and the team will "slowly work him back into the plan," head coach Mike McCarthy said Monday.


SUSPENSIONS

  • RB Ronald Jones has been suspended the first two games of the regular season for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances, per a statement from an NFL spokesperson. Jones is eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games. He will be allowed to return to the Cowboys' active roster on Monday, Sept. 18, following the team’s Week 2 game against the New York Jets.

  • WR Tim Patrick suffered a non-contact injury at Monday's practice and was carted off the field, NFL Network's James Palmer reported. Patrick is feared to have suffered an injury to his left Achilles tendon, coach Sean Payton told reporters. Patrick missed all of last season with a torn right ACL suffered during training camp.

  • WR KJ Hamler is being waived with a non-football illness designation, NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo reported, per sources. The transaction officially took place Monday, per the transaction wire. Hamler posted on Instagram that he was diagnosed with pericarditis, a mild heart irritation, and will undergo a treatment plan before returning to the field. Denver waiving Hamler is procedural, with the intent to possibly re-sign the wide receiver after he recovers, Garafolo added.
  • OT Christian DiLauro was waived, per the transaction wire.

  • WR Marvin Jones (back) was removed from non-football injury list.
  • TE Shane Zylstra is believed to have suffered a significant knee injury and is expected to miss six months, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per sources. Zylstra will undergo more tests, but there is little optimism, Rapoport added. The 26-year-old tight end caught four touchdowns last year for Detroit.

  • QB Anthony Richardson underwent a procedure on his nose on Sunday to correct his nasal septum, the team announced. The first-round rookie will miss Monday's practice but is expected to return on Tuesday.
