Mike Tomlin: Big Ben 'on board with what we're doing'

Sunday's overtime loss to the Dallas Cowboys left the Pittsburgh Steelers at 7-7 and Ben Roethlisberger unhappy.

The team's starting quarterback was openly critical of Todd Haley's play-calling this week, pouring fuel on long-simmering tensions between the passer and his offensive coordinator.

Coach Mike Tomlin on Tuesday downplayed the incident.

"I met with Ben yesterday," Tomlin told NFL.com's Aditi Kinkhabwala. "He's ready to move forward and he's on board with what we're doing."

Tomlin emphasized his meeting with Big Ben was customary, a weekly thing, and not tied to the passer's off-script commentary from Monday.

There's plenty to overcome in Pittsburgh this week, but the Steelers face two clear options against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Win the game, and the playoffs remain a possibility. Falter, and go the way of the New York Jets.
