The Tampa Bay Buccaneers invited a lot of speculation about their quarterback position this year when they drafted third-round pick Mike Glennon. On Wednesday, they officially got him under contract.

The Bucs announced that Glennon signed a four-year contract.
Tampa Bay's coaching staff has talked up Glennon's ability to learn quickly at the pro level. He'll be counted on as Josh Freeman's backup this season, with potential to play late in the season if the veteran struggles.
No matter how good Glennon looked in practice, this season in Tampa Bay isn't about him. It's about if Freeman evolves from a wildly talented but inconsistent quarterback to someone the franchise wants to rely on long term. The Bucs hedged their bets by taking Glennon, who now is under contract cheaply through 2016.
Glennon's arm and pocket toughness stood out among draft prospects this year, but his accuracy was a big question mark. Aside from a lack of mobility, he reminded us a little of a poor man's Freeman because he'll wow you one play and frustrate you the next.
