Maurice Jones-Drew reportedly too expensive for Jets

On Tuesday, we theorized that the New York Jets could fit as a potential suitor if the Jacksonville Jaguars actively attempted to trade running back Maurice Jones-Drew.

Well, let's go ahead and cross Gang Green off the list. Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News has the skinny:

With a dearth of options at running back and a reputation for big splashes, the Jets seemed just crazy enough to make a play here. But as it turns out, the Jets' reasons for passing likely mirror why most teams won't go near Jones-Drew.

In today's NFL, a veteran running back simply isn't worth as much as he used to be. Even one as good as MJD.
