LeSean McCoy returns for Eagles after head injury

LeSean McCoy took a big hit to the helmet from David Amerson in the first quarter of Philadelphia's game Sunday against the Washington Redskins.

McCoy laid on the ground for over a minute before eventually being helped up and leaving the field under his own power. Doctors examined McCoy on the sideline, and he appeared to be arguing with team officials about wanting to return to the game.

The Eagles' training staff had to keep McCoy's helmet away from him before they ultimately escorted him to the locker room.

The team shortly announced after that their star runner is being examined for a head injury.

UPDATE: The Eagles announced in the second quarter that McCoy was cleared to return.
