Unofficial list of free agents
The Washington Redskins are the latest team to strike a deal. Free-agent guard Kory Lichtensteigerannounced via Twitter Saturday night that he had reached an agreement with the Redskins. On Sunday the Washington Examiner and the Washington Times both reported he signed the accord, an apparent five-year deal.
An undersized guard ill-suited to a power-blocking run game, Lichtensteiger wasn't expected to draw heavy interest on the open market. Redskins coach Mike Shanahan always has valued him more than other teams around the NFL because his athleticism is a plus in the zone-blocking scheme. Re-signing the 28-year-old provides continuity up front, though Lichtensteiger will have to hold off 2012 third-round draft pick Josh LeRibeus.
