Ken Whisenhunt interviewed with Cleveland Browns

Add Ken Whisenhunt to the list of candidates talking with the Cleveland Browns about their head-coaching vacancy.

A team source told NFL.com's Ian Rapoport that the fired Arizona Cardinals coach interviewed with the Browns on Wednesday. ESPN also reported the news of the interview in Arizona, a location that rapidly has become the epicenter of the NFL's coaching carousel.

Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and CEO Joe Banner met with Whisenhunt one day after sitting down with Cardinals defensive coordinator Ray Horton, according to the report. The Browns plan to meet later this week with Oregon's Chip Kelly, whose team is in Glendale, Ariz., to play in the Fiesta Bowl on Thursday night. The Browns also plan to interview Syracuse's Doug Marrone.

It's widely believed Kelly sits atop the Browns' short list of candidates, but they aren't the only team chasing the innovative college coach. A source with knowledge of the process told NFL.com's Ian Rapoport that the Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills also plan to speak with Kelly, who came close to accepting a job with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year.

Fear not: All of this will be sorted out in time (we hope).
