Jim Irsay fueling Indianapolis Colts trade speculation

While Andrew Luck prepared to carry the Indianapolis Coltsinto battle Saturday, team owner Jim Irsay was back on Twitter, filing his latest in a series of mysterious tweets about a pending trade.

Irsay's first breadcrumb came Thursday night, describing a possible -- SUPER EXCITING -- upgrade to the Colts' roster. Sources from all corners have denied that Maurice Jones-Drew, Mike Wallace, Mike Jenkins or Vontae Davis are about to be shipped, so it's anyone's guess who the Colts are targeting.

Irsay's antics are mostly harmless, but do they come at a cost? Mike Freeman of CBSSports.com interviewed several team executives on the matter.

"There's no question he's hurting his team with that stuff," one NFC scout said.

One team executive told Freeman that clubs don't want their dealings with the Colts advertised on Irsay's Twitter feed. Another executive suggested that Irsay is hurting his front office, because teams will pounce when they smell desperation for a deal.

Irsay's a different type of cat.

On Friday night, he blocked a Twitter follower who wrote him to say, "You're the most unprofessional owner in all of sports."

Wrote Irsay: "@SlavaK87 has been banned n blocked 4 LIFE!!!!! Now THAT'S a professional check mate! Besides,it like Stipe says "I belief it's what you DO!"

On Saturday, Irsay asked the world: "...Have you heard about the Midnight Rambler????"

More than once, old chap. More than once.
