Jaguars' Allen Robinson out for year with broken foot

Allen Robinson's rookie campaign is over.

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Tuesday that the first-year wide receiver will miss the remainder of the season because of a stress fracture in his foot.

Robinson -- the team's second-round pick -- caught five passes for 60 yards in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys, capping a campaign that saw the productive rookie haul in 48 passes for 548 yards and two scores. He showed solid chemistry with Blake Bortles this autumn, often serving as the rookie passer's go-to target on third downs.

Entrenched in a banged-up receiving corps, Robinson's team-leading 81 targets are 20 more than Cecil Shorts, who is likely to see a monster workload down the stretch for a group that also will lean on rookies Marqise Lee and Allen Hurns and tight end Clay Harbor.

Jacksonville's cast of young wideouts is promising, but we need to see them produce consistently as a group -- and we need to see them stay healthy. Neither has happened in 2014.
