Jacksonville Jaguars to interview Mel Tucker

The Jacksonville Jaguars will interview defensive coordinator and assistant head coach Mel Tucker for the team's head-coaching vacancy,'s Ian Rapoport reported Saturday. Tucker filled in as interim coach in 2011 after Jack Del Rio was fired. New general manager David Caldwell fired Mike Mularkey this week after just one season.'s Steve Wyche reported, citing a source with knowledge of Tucker's plans, that the interview is scheduled for Monday.

Tucker could also draw interest from the Cleveland Browns, where he was defensive coordinator in 2008. He and new Cleveland Browns coach Rob Chudzinski were both on the Cleveland staff 2007-08.

Note: Tucker ran a 3-4 as coordinator of the Browns and a 4-3 in Jacksonville this season.

UPDATE:'s Ian Rapoport reported Saturday on NFL Network's "NFL GameDay Morning" that the Jaguars also are set to interview Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden.
