As Around The League's Kevin Patra recently pointed out, questions have swirled about impending free agent Mike Wallace's reported contract demands of a deal in line with Vincent Jackson's five-year, $55.555 million contract.
Wallace is believed to have turned down a five-year deal in the neighborhood of $50 million last offseason. The Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly do expect other teams to value the talented vertical threat at a level commensurate with Jackson's salary.
At least one NFL general manager in the market for a wide receiver is balking at that notion, however.
"I like Mike Wallace," the general manager told Sports Illustrated's Peter King. "But I'm not paying him Vincent Jackson money. Not even close."

It should be noted that the majority of NFL general managers weren't willing to pay "Vincent Jackson money" to Jackson last year, either.
Considering age, talent and production over the past three years, Wallace remains the top receiver on the market this offseason. All it takes is one team to believe he's worth $50 to $60 million over five years.
The Miami Dolphinscould be that desperate team after consistently swinging and missing on free agents during the Jeff Ireland era.
