Hakeem Nicks doubtful after developing knee swelling

It appears the New York Giants will be without wide receiver Hakeem Nicks for a second consecutive week.

The wide receiver, who's already dealing with an ongoing foot issue, is doubtful to play this weekend against the Philadelphia Eagles after developing swelling in his knee Friday, via The Record.

Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz described Nicks as "out" for Sunday night's NFC East showdown, according to the New York Post. "(I'm) disappointed my counterpart won't be out there with me," he said.

Nicks piled up 199 receiving yards in Week 2's win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he was forced to sit against the Carolina Panthers because of soreness in his surgically repaired foot. Nicks didn't have any knee issues before Friday.

Nicks' absence will give wide receiver Ramses Barden another opportunity to produce on the national stage. Barden had nine receptions for 138 yards in the Giants' blowout win over the Carolina Panthers last Thursday.
