Gronkowski out, Amendola questionable for Patriots

Rob Gronkowski will miss this week's New England Patriots game versus the Philadelphia Eagles, as expected.

The All Pro tight end has been ruled out for Week 13 with a knee injury. As NFL Media's Albert Breer points out, it's not a good sign for the next week's availability when the Patriots rule out a player on Friday.

With Julian Edelman (foot) also sidelined, Tom Brady would benefit from Danny Amendola's return to the lineup.

Amendola (knee) joins star linebackers Jamie Collins (illness) and Dont'a Hightower (knee) as "questionable" for Sunday's tilt.

Amendola is expected to suit up, barring a setback. Collins confirmed this week that he's ready to play. Sporting a new brace to support a sprained MCL, Hightower could be a game-time decision.

Are the Eagles drawing the banged-up Patriots at the most opportune time? Or are the Patriots drawing the dysfunctional, backsliding Eagles at an even better time?
