Tuel Time might have to be taken off the air once again.
Buffalo Bills rookie quarterback EJ Manuel has been fully cleared to return, the team announced through its official Twitter account.
Manuel sprained his LCLÂ in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns. The injury was estimated to keep the first-round draft pick out four to six weeks, and Week 10 falls in the middle of that estimation.
Manuel said that now it's up to coach Doug Marroneon whether or not he plays Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Undrafted rookie quarterback Jeff Tuel struggled in his first pro start, a Week 9 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, most notably throwing a 100-yard pick six that changed the complexion of the game.
If Manuel is able to suit up -- and stay healthy -- it will give the Bills' good young offensive group a chance to grow together for the remainder of the season. Manuel showed flashes earlier this season, but he needs to play.
Having Manuel back will provide the Bills (3-6) with the link they've been missing in several of their recent losses.
"He said he'll be ready on Sunday," receiver Steve Johnson said prior to the team's announcement, per the Bills' official website. "After that there's no excuses."
In other Bills news, the team released quarterback Matt Flynn on Monday.
