The coach chose to leave Buffalo amid rumors of front-office changes despite finishing with Buffalo's first winning season since 2004. His move was quick, sparking some thoughts that Marrone might have another job lined up elsewhere.
Chicago could be an enticing option for the coach. The Bears are equipped with plenty of offensive weapons, but struggled to resemble anything near an NFL-caliber unit as the season progressed. Recently fired coach Marc Trestman appeared to lose touch with his team long before Week 17, as the Bears skidded to a 5-11 finish.
There's also the albatross of quarterback Jay Cutler's contract, an exorbitant amount of money for a quarterback who was inconsistent for much of 2014. This will undoubtedly be taken into consideration as the currently unemployed coach decides on his future in the coming days, be it in Chicago or elsewhere.
