Danny Amendola hits man in the face with TD spike

Sunday's 36-22 loss to the Minnesota Vikings was a painful one for the St. Louis Rams. Even their touchdowns hurt.

After wide receiver Danny Amendola hauled in a 6-yard TD pass from Rams quarterback Sam Bradford, his decision to spike the ball spelled doom for an unsuspecting man standing on the sideline at Edward Jones Dome.

Amendola's spike ricocheted off the turf and pegged the man in the face, sending his glasses flying.

Amendola initially was unaware that he left the man in pain, but he made up for it later -- sort of.

After converting a two-point conversion midway through the fourth quarter, Amendola handed the ball to a second man in the back of the end zone. Totally different guy -- no glasses, obviously decades younger, wearing a cap, etc. -- but a fair attempt to make things right.
