On Thursday night, the Green Bay Packers' defense resembled the 2010 version that propelled the organization to its fourth Super Bowl victory. As much as this team is known for Aaron Rodgers and the offense, the Packers are at their best when the defense gets to the quarterback and takes the ball away.

Clay Matthews, back lining up on the right side of the formation, did his Tasmanian Devil routine and finished with 3.5 sacks in the Packers' 23-10 victory over the Chicago Bears. He resembled the 2010 runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year once again instead of the 2011 version that had six sacks all season.
Tramon Williams, with his 2011 shoulder issues in the past, picked off two passes and was back looking like one of the NFL's best young cornerbacks.
"Any time you can force them into three or four interceptions, get after the quarterback the way in which we were and hold them to 200 yards of offense, it's pretty indicative of what we can do and what we're capable of doing," said Matthews, according to the Green Bay Press Gazette. "We need to continue to do this and move forward in the right direction. It was a big win against a good team, and hopefully that's the theme for this year on defense."
It was just two years ago when the Packers ranked No. 2 in the league in scoring defense.
Defensive coordinator Dom Capers' unit was also No. 2 in interceptions.
If the Packers' D continues to play like 2010, especially Matthews, Green Bay has as good of a shot at the title as anyone in the league. **
