Brandon Stokley released by Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravensannounced Saturday they have cut veteran receiver Brandon Stokley and re-signed tight end Billy Bajema.

Stokley had nine receptions for 79 yards in three games this season.

His release might be a good sign that Jacoby Jones could be active when the Ravensvisit the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

Jones sprained his knee on a special teams collision with a teammate in the season opener. He officially is listed as questionable for Sunday's game.

Removing Stokley from the equation also puts more pressure on the Ravens' young receivers, Deonte Thompson and Marlon Brown.

Brown is dealing with a thigh injury, but has shown flashes this season with three touchdown catches. He needs to improve his consistency to gain quarterback Joe Flacco's trust.

Both Thompson (concussion) and Brown were listed as questionable for Sunday's contest.

Bajema is a run-blocking tight end. He was released earlier this week after the Ravenstraded for offensive tackle Eugene Monroe.
