Brandon Marshall reportedly set for more hip surgery

Brandon Marshall is headed for more surgery on his hip.

Michael C. Wright of ESPNChicago.com reported Tuesday that the Chicago Bears wide receiver will undergo an arthroscopic procedure early next week. A source told Wright the surgery is "nothing" and should only keep Marshall out of action approximately two weeks.

This will be Marshall's third hip surgery in the past four years. He had a right hip procedure in 2010 and a left hip procedure in 2009. It's unknown which hip needs to be repaired this time.

Marshall is coming off his most productive NFL season ever. He set career-highs with 118 receptions for 1,508 yards and added 11 touchdowns in his first season with the Bears.

It's a safe assumption that Marshall's surgery will preclude him from defending his Pro Bowl MVP award later this month. Marshall caught four touchdown passes in stealing the show at the Aloha Bowl last season.
