Bart Scott sidelines NFL career for TV analyst gig

We heard reports last week that Bart Scott was close to choosing a team to continue his NFL career.

Instead, the veteran linebacker has decided to enter the TV business, a career step that had been a mortal lock since his "Can't wait!" proclamation a few winters back.

Scott will join former Oakland Raiders CEO Amy Trask, among others, on "The Other Pregame Show," which will debut on CBS Sports Network this fall. NFL.com's own Adam Schein will host.

Scott spent the last 11 years in the NFL, seven with the Baltimore Ravens and the last four with the New York Jets.

We're intrigued by the addition of Trask, the NFL's first female CEO who spent 26 seasons with the Raiders directly working for Al Davis. It's believed Trask was pushed out the door in Oakland by Davis' son, Mark, who now owns the team.

If she airs that dirty laundry, the DVR will be set.
