Arian Foster: Houston Texans' D better than Titans'

The Tennessee Titans' defense talked tough after their physical Week 1 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Titans take on another playoff contender in the Houston Texans this week.

Running back Arian Foster responded succinctly when asked about the difference between the Texans and Titans' defenses.

"Ours is better," Foster said, per ESPN.com.

The world would have disputed Foster through the first three quarters of the Texans' Monday night game against the San Diego Chargers. The Texans righted the ship en route to the 31-28 victory.

The Titans' defensive front shut down the Steelers' shaky run game but will have its hands full with Foster and Ben Tate, who are both football fields better than anyone Pittsburgh threw at Tennessee on Sunday.

The Titans also dominated the Steelers' interior offensive line once Maurkice Pouncey went out. They'll face a stouter front this week.

On the flip side, the Texans' defense will get Antonio Smith back after he served his suspension for a preseason helmet swing. The Texans missed Smith's pass rush opposite J.J. Watt last week.

The Texans' secondary was susceptible last week, but going against a run-heavy offense with a quarterback with accuracy issues, Jake Locker, plays right into the Texans defense's strength.

Of course Foster sided with his team, as Chris Johnson would have if asked the same question. However, the favorable matchups could prove Foster correct.
