Anthony Hargrove joining Dallas Cowboys in NFL return

Anthony Hargrove's roller-coaster NFL career is not over yet. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports that Hargrove has signed a contract with the Dallas Cowboys. The team's official website said it was a one-year deal.

Hargrove, who battled back from drug addiction to win a Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints, was not in the NFL last year after getting released by the Green Bay Packers in August. Hargrove originally was suspended eight games by the NFL for his role in the Saints' bounty probe, though the suspension ultimately was vacated by former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue.

The Cowboys' bench is very thin on defense, so Hargrove has a shot to make the team's roster. It's probably an uphill battle, but Hargrove has overcome the odds before in his eight years in the league.
