All signs continue to point to Aaron Rodgers spending another Sunday on the Green Bay Packers sideline.
According to Wilde, Rodgers did some quarterback-center exchange work with practice squad center Garth Gerhart while Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien worked with the starters. If Rodgers is ruled out, Flynn will make a fourth consecutive start.
Coach Mike McCarthysaid Thursday that Rodgers was limited in practice and will be re-evaluated Friday, but he added that Rodgers looked sharp and ready to play. That could be McCarthy's way of pushing the decision makers (general manager Ted Thompson and team physician Patrick McKenzie) to allowing Rodgers to play.Â
"I'm clear of mind and my body feels good," Rodgers told reporters. "I have a good sense of where this is headed."
Rodgers has yet to be medically cleared, now more than six weeks since he suffered a fractured collarbone against the Chicago Bears. It's hard to imagine that Rodgers has a "good sense" he's playing. The Packers will make an official announcement Friday on who will start at quarterback against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
It would be a surprise if Rodgers is cleared.
