Aaron Rodgers' brother to join Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars general manager David Caldwellrealized his roster had too many holes to allocate valuable draft picks to the quarterback position.

Instead of taking a mid-round flier on a signal-caller, Caldwell took Michigan wild-card speedster Denard Robinson in the 2013 NFL Draft while signing a pair of intriguing undrafted free agents.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday that Aaron Rodgers' brother, Jordan, will join the Jags as a priority undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt. Like Aaron, Jordan started his college career at Butte College in Oroville, Calif. Unlike Aaron, Jordan never developed the size and strength to tempt NFL teams into making him an early-round draft selection.

"He's got his brother's brain," an NFL scout recently told the Green Bay Press-Gazette "He's got some physical (tools) -- he's a good looking kid, but he just doesn't have the arm strength Aaron has."

Scouts do believe Jordan has enough going for him to entice an NFL team into cutting a big-name backup to carry him as a third quarterback.

If Rodgers is going to make the Jaguars' roster, he's going to have to beat out an even more intriguing undrafted free agent in Arizona's Matt Scott. A plus athlete with read-option capability, Scott had drawn loose Russell Wilson comparisons after posting a 27-14 touchdown-to-interception ratio and 60.3 completion rate in Rich Rodriguez's spread-option offense.

Around The League's Gregg Rosenthal immediately quipped that the Jaguars' quarterback depth chart would read: 1. Chad Henne, 2. Scott, 3. Rodgers, 4. Denard Robinson, 5. Blaine Gabbert. He might not be too far off base.
