The Ravens seem serious about throwing the ball: Baltimore's normally conservative offense seemingly has been replaced by an "Air Coryell"-type passing attack during the preseason. That trend continued against Atlanta as backup QB John Beck received the majority of the work and completed 16 of 28 passes for 232 yards and one touchdown. Beck drove the Ravens 91 yards on their first series for the only touchdown of the first half.

Terrell Suggs is ready: The Ravens' linebacker dominated while lining up with the second-teamers, recording three tackles and one sack in his brief playing time. Baltimore's backups also caused fits for Atlanta's first-team offense, which appeared in only one series. Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed the only pass he threw, a 13-yarder to WR Roddy White. RB Michael Turner had 12 yards on just two carries.
