» The Atlanta Falcons' new-look offense lived up to sky-high expectations in a 40-24 win on Sunday at Arrowhead.

» The Falcons' defense clamped down on the Chiefs in the second half, turning a tight game at halftime into a laugher.

» Matt Ryan is a sleeper MVP candidate, and he showed it on Sunday. Ryan was in complete control, finishing 23-for-31 passing for 299 yards and three touchdowns. He added a rushing score.

» The Chiefs got Jamaal Charles (16 carries, 87 yards) back in the lineup after he missed the majority of last season with a knee injury. Charles was dragged down from behind on a 46-yard run in the first half. It might take some more time to regain that breakaway speed.

» It's been widely predicted this is the season Julio Jones becomes an elite playmaker. So far, so good, as Jones finished with six catches for 108 yards and two scores. Ryan was looking his way all afternoon.

» After a promising start for Matt Cassel & Co., the wheels came off on the Chiefs' offense in the second half. K.C. turned it over three times with Cassel (21-for-33 passing, 258 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT) making some poor decisions. The Chiefs scored a garbage touchdown with less than 10 seconds to play.
