Keith Brooking signs contract with Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos signed veteran linebacker Keith Brooking to a one-year contract Monday, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

The Broncos later confirmed the signing, via a team release.

A 14-year pro, Brooking spent the first 11 seasons of his NFL career with the Atlanta Falcons, for whom he recorded 146 starts, and had an eight-season stretch during which he started every regular-season game.

Brooking, who signed a three-year contract with the Cowboys in 2009, appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys, and had three starts. He collected 50 tackles and two passes defensed last season.
