Chris Canty inks 1-year deal with Baltimore Ravens

Chris Canty is back with the Baltimore Ravens.

NFL Media's Albert Breer reported Wednesday that the veteran defensive end has signed a one-year, $2.5 million deal that includes a team option designed to spread out a $1.53 million signing bonus.

The New York Daily News first reported the signing. An 11-year veteran, Canty recently visited with the Jets before opting to return to the Ravens. The Baltimore Sun reported that Canty cancelled a scheduled visit with the Seahawks on Wednesday.

"We talked weeks ago about the possibility of Chris coming back, and we are happy he is," said Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome.

The re-signing comes almost three weeks after the Ravensreleased Canty, who was set to enter the final year of a three-year, $8 million contract signed in 2013.

Canty played 360 snaps last season, grading out on ProFootballFocus as the 31st best 3-4 defensive end among 47 qualifying players. Canty, 32, will play his third season with the Ravens after previous stops with the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants.
