DJ Moore didn't hide his frustration last year, displaying poor body language as the season spiraled. Infamously, the Pro Bowl wideout walked off the field in the middle of a play in Week 9 against the Arizona Cardinals and sat on the bench before it ended.
New coach, new era, new Moore.
The star receiver said on Tuesday that he's had discussions about his body language with new head coach Ben Johnson.
"Just don't do it. Just keep it inside," Moore said, via the team's official transcript. "We talked about it later, and just don't put it on film. Don't put it on TV. So you guys can't run with it (laughter). So that's how it is."
Since taking over, Johnson has been open not only about reshaping the roster but also about curbing negative aspects, such as the body language situation.
"I'm going to be honest right now, and then we aren't going to talk about it," Moore said. "I did it once, and then we nipped it in the bud, and it never happened again. ... I just said I'm not going to do it again."
Moore generated 966 yards on 98 grabs last season with six touchdowns. His 9.9 yards per catch in 2024 was a career-low and the first time below double digits (previous low was 12.4 in 2021).
The 28-year-old said Johnson shaking things up in Chicago is for the better.
"To shake things up, keep everybody motivated and going," he said.
"You never know what you're going to get the next day. Then there's always a question of what we got, and you've always got to be ready."
In seven NFL seasons, Moore has never been on a club that finished with more than seven wins in a campaign.
