In his career at Irvington, Evans rushed for 1,403 yards and 14 touchdowns and completed 123 of 190 pass attempts for 1,856 yards and 18 touchdowns. In his senior year, he recorded 78 tackles and seven interceptions, which helped him get named the Star-Ledger Essex County Player of the Year and first-team all-state. Evans also led his high school track team to the Group 3 Track co-state championship title competing in hurdles, relay and high jump. He ultimately chose Florida over Oklahoma, Pittsburgh and Purdue.
Evans spent 2009 as a backup and special teams player, which he totaled six tackles. In 2010, Evans played in 13 games, and earned three starts. He had 14 tackles and one interception on the year. The following season, Evans played in all 13 games, and saw eight starts. On the season, he registered 51 tackles and one interception. NEEDS ANALYSIS
Chiefs fans have a right to whine about the franchise's star-crossed timing. One year ago, Kansas City at No. 1 would have had its pick of Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin III. Instead, the Chiefs appear destined to select an offensive tackle. The Chiefs might also be in the market for another tackle post-draft if the disgruntled Branden Albert is shopped. On defense, coach Andy Reid shored up his paper-thin cornerback group by adding free agents Sean Smith and Dunta Robinson. The team still needs a more reliable free safety than Kendrick Lewis across from Eric Berry. At linebacker, the death of Jovan Belcher leaves this group with a need on the inside.

His willingness to engage in the physical aspects of the game, namely blocking, will definitely help during the early parts of his career. Kasa hasn't spent much time at the tight end position, but he has shown enough baseline skills to draw interest in April. He only needs to show more natural receiving skills, which might be asking a lot.

Consistent, upright three-step approach on placements. Good trajectory on kicks, gets them up quickly with a strong downward strike on the ball. When watching Mark Sanchez self-immolate on \"Monday Night Football\" last December in Tennessee, it felt like the end of an era. Surely, the Jets would finally give up on Sanchez, or make him a highly paid backup. But five months later, his only real competition is a guy who hasn't played since 2010. So it's not like quarterback is the only pressing need, coach Rex Ryan also needs defenders who can win one-on-one matchups. The Jets are relying too much on outside linebackers like Garrett McIntyre or Antwan Barnes. At least Ryan can coach up questionable defensive talent. On offense, New York is counting on annual disappointment Vladimir Ducasse and the annually injured Willie Colon to start at guard; there are no capable backups. Help at running back should be available later in the draft.

This Miami native didn’t play football until high school, and started lining up at defensive end during his senior season (after transferring from Carol City to Norland for the last two years of secondary education). Staying in his hometown to play for the up-and-coming FIU program proved to be a very good move, as Sun Belt coaches named him an all-conference selection the past three years. He has good speed around the edge, and great short area burst, but he has short arms, and doesn't use his hands all that well. As of right now, he best projects as a situational pass rushing 4-3 defensive end.

Moody helped his Roman Catholic High School team to the league championship as a senior. Throughout his career, he played cornerback, safety and linebacker on defense, and receiver on offense. Heralded as a four star prospect and one of the top high school players in Pennsylvania, Moody chose FSU over offers from Penn State, Georgia Tech, Michigan State and Temple.
In his first year at Florida State, Moody took a redshirt after suffering a shoulder injury that required surgery. The following year, he appeared in all 13 games for the Seminoles and earned two starts at the rover position. He totaled 33 tackles on the season. In 2010, Moody started at safety, where he registered 79 tackles (four for loss), two pass breakups, and one interception, which he returned for a score. Moody dealt with a lingering groin injury in 2011, which limited him to only nine games and just 23 tackles. In 2012, Moody moved to linebacker, and had 20 tackles and one sack in 14 games.

If GM Reggie McKenzie had his way, the Raiders would trade out of No. 3 in a hurry. That won't be easy. If they keep the pick, addressing departures on the defensive line is a must. Richard Seymour, Desmond Bryant and Tommy Kelly have been replaced by Vance Walker, Jason Hunter and Pat Sims. That's uninspiring business. The addition of Matt Flynn tempers the need at quarterback; still, look for the Raiders to grab a signal-caller. Up front, the Raiders have a solid left tackle in Jared Veldheer, but Khalif Barnes was a disaster on the right side. Flynn is a dead man unless that gets fixed. The Raiders are a train wreck on paper. Critics are descending on McKenzie, but don't forget he inherited a steaming mess. It's going to take time to dig Oakland out from under.

In spite of all of this, Barner can still be an extremely dangerous weapon in a running back committee and as a kick returner.

Sean Payton was excited to bring coordinator Rob Ryan and his 3-4 defense to New Orleans. Now they just need players to fit a unit that can't get much worse. With their two early picks, the Saints should focus on the pass rush and on stopping the pass rush. Cameron Jordan fits beautifully as a 3-4 defensive end, but the Saints could still use another building block on the line. Payton says that the team's left tackle spot keeps him up at night, which makes the position a possible first-round target. The depth at wide receiver and safety looks poor, but those will be viewed as luxury spots. This defense needs an overhaul.

The Steelers are on the hook to nail this draft to the wall. With needs all over the field, the Steelers are under pressure to hit the jackpot with their eight picks. James Harrison's replacement must be found at outside linebacker. LaMarr Woodley is solid on the left side, but Worilds could lose his job to a surging rookie. After Mike Wallace packing his money-lined bags for South Beach, the Steelers did what they had to do to keep the Patriots from scooping up Emmanuel Sanders. Still, Big Ben could no doubt use more help. Luckily for Pittsburgh, there's plenty of receiving talent in this draft. Running back, meanwhile, is another sore spot for the Steelers.

His elite straight-line speed (if only average size) allows him to press the line with authority and accelerate to freedom, yet he still shows patience when following his blockers –- a dangerous combination for opposing defenses. He has been productive and has shown toughness as an inside runner, but his size and limitations in pass protection will likely leave him as a rotational runner in the NFL. Space players with speed are at a major premium in the NFL, though, and he figures to go in the second round of the draft.

As long as Green Bay has Aaron Rodgers, a certain amount of success is guaranteed for the Packers, but the ancillary parts are lacking in several areas. The running game was a major sticking point last season, especially after Cedric Benson went down in Week 5. The defensive line boasts a lot of solid draft picks, but no real production. The clearly overrated B.J. Raji has been on the field for too many snaps during portions of his young career. He's decent, but he needs help and just isn't the force that, say, a Kyle Williams is. Regarding the linebacker position, the club is relying on the unproven Nick Perry at this point. It's possible the Packers might target a position besides OLB, but there's no question Clay Matthews could use some help.

Baca grew up going to UCLA football games with his late father, so it wasn’t a surprise when he chose to play for the Bruins as an all-state left tackle coming out of high school. Despite missing the 2010 season due to academic difficulties, Baca's managed to register 45 career starts. 25 of those starts have come at guard, and 20 have come at tackle. He's purely a guard in the pros, and his presenting the sort of nastiness and intelligence will earn him a mid- to late-round draft selection, by a team that's willing to let him build up his functional strength.

It would be a surprise if general manager Rick Smith didn't target someone who could be a playmaker opposite Andre Johnson. The good news for the Texans is that there should be roughly a half-dozen wide receivers from which to choose late in the first round. The flip side is that they might be better off waiting until the second if one wideout doesn't stand out from the pack. The Texans need to improve on the right side of the offensive line. Brandon Brooks, a third-round pick last year, can be a factor at guard if he keeps his weight down. Houston is a good bet to pick up an outside linebacker as well as an inside linebacker. The loss of Connor Barwin leaves little depth at pass rusher behind Brooks Reed and Whitney Mercilus.

NEEDS ANALYSIS
With 12 picks, Baltimore has an opportunity to reload. The Ray Lewis retirement, paired with Dannell Ellerbe's exodus to Miami, left the Ravens with a gap at inside linebacker. At safety, Baltimore found a solid replacement for Ed Reed in Michael Huff, though the Ravens still need to draft someone to compete with James Ihedigbo. On offense, there are questions at center, where Gino Gradkowski takes over for Matt Birk. Left tackle will be an issue if Bryant McKinnie isn't lured back. The Ravens also could use another big-bodied, reliable wideout now that Anquan Boldin is a San Francisco 49er. While we're at it, with both Dennis Pitta and Ed Dickson set to become free agents after the 2013 season, it isn't too early to find help at tight end.

NEEDS ANALYSIS
The Steelers are on the hook to nail this draft to the wall. With needs all over the field, the Steelers are under pressure to hit the jackpot with their eight picks. James Harrison's replacement must be found at outside linebacker. LaMarr Woodley is solid on the left side, but Worilds could lose his job to a surging rookie. After Mike Wallace packing his money-lined bags for South Beach, the Steelers did what they had to do to keep the Patriots from scooping up Emmanuel Sanders. Still, Big Ben could no doubt use more help. Luckily for Pittsburgh, there's plenty of receiving talent in this draft. Running back, meanwhile, is another sore spot for the Steelers.
