Torrey Smith on last-minute drop: 'I'm sick right now'

Torrey Smith's off-kilter season continued Sunday with an ugly fourth-quarter drop that snuffed out Baltimore's late opportunity to tie the Colts.

The Ravens receiver couldn't haul in a well-thrown Joe Flacco pass that floated over Smith's left shoulder and deflected off his hands with 30 seconds left in a game that Indianapolis ultimately won 20-13.

"I'm sick right now," Smith later tweeted after declining interview requests, per The Baltimore Sun. "... never been in this position before ... very trying times for me on and off the field but I will be better from this."

Said coach John Harbaugh: "It was catchable. It was a tough catch, it was a challenging play to make, very challenging play to make. Those are not plays you see made every (day) in the NFL."

With just three grabs in the contest, Smith has struggled all season to cement himself in new play-caller Gary Kubiak's scheme.

As Flacco remains zeroed-in on a reborn Steve Smith Sr., we haven't seen Torrey take the top off a defense like he's done in years past. His long-overdue bounce-back game might not be far off, though, with the injury-riddled Buccaneersnext up on the slate.
