Rob Gronkowski replaced by Ed Reed as Oscars correspondent

Rob Gronkowski's Oscars debut has been cancelled.

The New England Patriots' tight end was scheduled to work the red carpet for the "Rich Eisen Podcast," but ESPN Boston reports that Gronk has been replaced by Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed. There's no word on why Gronkowski was replaced, but he has been pretty visible this offseason.

The Academy Awards will take place Sunday at 8:30 p.m. EST.
