Fellow Chargers cornerback Shareece Wright sprained his ankle on the opening kickoff, a source told the newspaper.

Jammer and Wright's availability for a Week 2 matchup with the Tennessee Titans on Sunday has yet to be determined.

Antoine Cason and Marcus Gilchrist are the only other cornerbacks on the Chargers' active roster. Chargers coach Norv Turner said Wright's injury forced the team to shuffle its coverage plans in the slot.

"We planned on playing Shareece in there," Turner told U-T San Diego. "Gilchrist came in and did a good job, and then when Jammer got hurt for a while, we actually put (safety Eric) Weddle down there in the slot, and he played really well."
