Quick Take: Texans at Saints

Keep your eye on ...

Texans running backs: After losing starter Ahman Green, Houston's backfield struggled to get much going against the Broncos on Saturday. With Green now sidelined by a groin injury, third-year back Chris Taylor and rookie Steve Slaton will look to improve on their combined 21-carry, 56-yard performance from last week.

Texans WR David Anderson: Anderson worked with the first- and second-team offense into the second half, thanks to an injury to starter Andre Johnson. Anderson finished with a Texans' preseason record six receptions and scored the team's only touchdown on 16-yard pass from Sage Rosenfels.

The Saints' kicking competition: Rookie Taylor Mehlhaff is putting the pressure on veteran Martin Gramatica for the team's kicking position. Mehlhaff has played well throughout training camp and despite struggling on his kickoffs in the preseason opener, he is still making a major push to take Gramatica's job.

Saints rookie cornerback Tracy Porter: The second-round pick out of Indiana missed the team's preseason opener with a minor hamstring pull, but he is expected to play this week. The Texans could provide the rookie with a stiff test as they have several experienced receivers on the roster.
