Connor Barth's 47-yard field goal in overtime gave Tampa Bay a 20-17 victory. The Bucs won the coin toss to open the extra session and marched 47 yards on 11 plays -- all rushes -- to set up Barth's game-winning kick.

Game ball

Cadillac Williams took the Bucs on his back and carried them in the second half and overtime. He had 10 carries on Tampa Bay's OT drive and finished with 129 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Key Stat

This game came down to special teams, and the Bucs dominated that phase. They tied the game on Michael Spurlock's 77-yard punt return touchdown in the fourth quarter and won it on Barth's field goal. The Saints squandered an opportunity to win the game at the end of regulation, as Garrett Hartley shanked a 37-yard kick.

Noteworthy

Saints RB Pierre Thomas left the game with bruised ribs and did not return. ... New Orleans safety Darren Sharper set an NFL record for the most interception-return yards in a season. ... The Bucs' win kept the Saints from clinching the NFC's No. 1 seed. They will do so if the Vikings lose to the Bears on Monday night. ... Tampa Bay won its second consecutve road game, after starting the season 0-6 on the road.
