Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno raced 18 yards for a touchdown to give Denver a 41-13 lead early in the fourth quarter.

Game ball

The Broncos' dynamic backfield duo shared the carries, so why not the game ball? Correll Buckhalter rushed for 113 yards on just 12 carries. Moreno, who added 86 yards on 21 carries, had two touchdowns. The Broncos rushed for 245 yards, compared to only 94 for the Chiefs.

Key Stat

The Broncos, one of seven teams that allow fewer than 300 yards per game, held Kansas City to only 222 yards of offense.

Noteworthy

Chiefs QB Matt Cassel was benched for Brodie Croyle after completing just 10 of 29 passes for 84 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions. For those of you calculating at home, that's a passer rating of 14.2. ... Broncos OLB Elvis Dumervil entered the game with as many sacks (14) as the Chiefs did as a team. Dumervil brought his sack total to 15, and the Chiefs had three from Tamba Hali, who also forced two fumbles. ... WR Brandon Marshall has notched at least three receptions in every game this season. He finished with seven receptions for 94 yards and a touchdown.
