Carson Palmer threw his fifth touchdown, the second for WR Chad Ochocinco, on Cincinnati's first drive of the second half. Shayne Graham's extra point gave the Bengals a 38-3 lead with 4:53 remaining in the third quarter.

Game ball

Palmer finished 20 of 24 for 233 yards and a season-high five touchdown passes before he was removed in the middle of the fourth quarter for backup J.T. O'Sullivan.

Key Stat

Led by Cedric Benson, the Bengals outrushed the Bears 215 to 35. Benson, the fourth overall pick by Chicago in 2005, recorded a career-high 189 yards rushing with one touchdown in his first game against his former team.

Noteworthy

With their fifth victory, the Bengals surpassed their win total from last season, when they finished 4-11-1. ... The Bears are 1-3 on the road this season and have lost seven of their last nine away from Soldier Field. ... With 10 catches for 118 yards, Ochocinco recorded his second straight 100-yard receiving game.
