Patriots' Dion Lewis will play vs. Dolphins on 'TNF'

Asked on Wednesday about the status of Patriots running back Dion Lewis, tight-lipped coach Bill Belichick told reporters: "We'll see tomorrow."

It's tomorrow, and we have our answer. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports that Lewis will play in Thursday night's showdown with the suddenly frisky Miami Dolphins after missing Week 7 with an abdominal injury, per a source informed of the injury.

The Patriots missed Lewis against the Jets on Sunday. We expect the fleet-footed pass-catching back to see plenty of time against the 'Fins. It makes sense for New England to spread out Cameron Wake and the rest of Miami's sack-happy defense with quick passes that target Lewis in space. His season-long Elusive Rating of 152.7, via Pro Football Focus, is nearly double the next back on the list.

How much Lewis plays will boil down to how he manages pain, but if he's healthy, fans should expect to see a heavy dose of the jitterbug during Thursday's primetime song and dance.
