Orson Charles suspended one game for violating conduct policy

Tight end Orson Charles will be absent when the Saints open up the regular season.

The league announced on Friday that Charles has been suspended without pay for the first game of the season for violating the NFL Personal Conduct Policy.

Charles will be eligible to return following the Saints' Week 1 tilt against the Cardinals.

The third-year tight end, who was a practice squad player last year for New Orleans, will be able to participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games.
