A person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press on Thursday that the Minnesota Vikings and defensive end Jackson have agreed to a one-year contract.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the agreement hadn't been announced.
Jackson confirmed that he is no longer with the Lions, sending a set of farewell tweets Thursday night:

Jackson has 19.5 career sacks over five seasons with the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks.
Vikings fans enjoyed a huge day on Thursday, as the team snagged defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, cornerback Xavier Rhodes and wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson in Thursday's first round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
