Josh Cribbs signed by Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts have nabbed another former Cleveland Brown.

Josh Cribbs signed a contract with Indy on Tuesday, the team announced.

Cribbs -- tied with Leon Washington with an NFL-record eight kickoff return touchdowns -- hasn't stepped on the field since playing in six games for the New York Jets last season. He finished the year on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.

The former Browns star joins fellow Cleveland castoffs Trent Richardson, D'Qwell Jackson and ex-coach Rob Chudzinski as members of a Colts team that sits one game ahead of the Texans in the AFC South.

Indy has leaned on Griff Whalen as a kick and punt returner all season. We'll find out soon enough if Cribbs will eat away at that playing time.

In corresponding moves, the Colts placed running back Ahmad Bradshaw on injured reserve and released linebacker Victor Butler.
