Gamble started four games for the Panthers this season before being injured.

The loss of Gamble is sure to affect the league's 19th-ranked pass defense. Gamble has played in 123 games for the Panthers, amassing 80 passes defensed and 508 combined tackles.

The move marks a busy a day for the Panthers, having dismissed general manager Marty Hurney earlier in the day.
